THE PRAYER WARRIORS!!!

FOREWORD

The power of prayer is very important in the life of a Christian. When we realize that prayer has great power, we will create time to pray, and allow God to work in our lives. We know instances of how nations have experienced great revivals and positive changes, thanks to the fervent prayers of the saints.

Fellowshipping with Pastor Daniel, and visiting his church, I see and understand that prayer is very important in his life. God has given him the courage, strength, and patience to overcome a lot of difficulties encountered by missionaries in this nation. God has blessed his ministry with success and victory. I am deeply convinced that this is due to the fact that he is a man of God, and a man of prayer.

I believe that after reading his book, you will not only get theoretical knowledge on how to pray, but will also experience a special communion with the Holy Spirit. I hope this book becomes a bestseller for Christians.

INTRODUCTION

The world we live in today can be described as a battlefield. Everybody is fighting to achieve something, to become somebody, and to fulfill destiny. If you are assigned to be a teacher, you will most likely be fighting to be the best teacher in your school by producing the best students in your subject. If you are confirmed to be a doctor, your struggle will be to treat as many patients as possible with outstanding success and recognition as an excellent Medical Practitioner. If your pursuit is to be a business man, your battle will be to win as many customers as possible to patronize your services. If you are an activist, your battle could be against corruption, child abuse, drug abuse or racism. The bottom line is that every man (woman) is engaged on the battlefield of life, fighting for fulfillment of purpose in life.

As children of God, who have received the gift of salvation through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we eventually become high profiled targets for the enemies of God. Unfortunately, many of God’s children have been conquered by this enemy-the devil. Many have lost their first love and others have been deceived and taken captive by the devil. This is clearly a symptom of the last days. Jesus said "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." (Matthew 24:12). The increase of iniquity and wickedness in the world has choked the love of Christ out of the lives of many so called believers. Many retain the form of godliness but deny the power of God (2Timothy3:5a). They attend church services, prayer meetings, and house fellowships. Some talk like believers, dress like believers, but doubt the power of God to save, heal and deliver to the uttermost. Many questions the power of God to make away where there seems to be no way, and to make possible what looks impossible. They mentally accept the person of Christ, but practically deny the power of Christ. How we need a fresh baptism of fire in our churches today. Just like the hymn writer Charles D. Tillman sang,

O Lord, send the power (fire) just now,

O Lord, send the power (fire) just now;

O Lord, send the power (fire) just now

And baptize every one.”

Light versus Darkness

The bible says:

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places"

 Ephesians 6:12

Apart from the day to day battles of life, the bible tells us there is yet another phase of battle that goes on in life. It's the battle between light and darkness, good and evil. It's the battle that takes place in what we may call the invisible world or spiritual world. This is another world that is as real as the world we live in. The writer in Ephesians 6:12 confirms this to us. He says:

"we do not wrestle against flesh and blood"  that is we wrestle not against what we can see, feel, smell, ear, or taste with our physical senses.

"but against principalities, against powers" these term designate different ranks of evil spirits.

"against the rulers of the darkness of this age." Satan is described as the ruler of this world (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11). He uses evil spirits, and wicked men to influence and dominate the present world. He operates freely in darkness rather than in the light.

"against spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places" The  heavenly place is a dwelling-place. A place from where they influence the affairs of men.  This brings me to the conclusion that as long as we exist on planet earth, we will either be influenced by these powers or wrestling against them; it makes no difference whether you believe it or not,  young or old, tall or short, thin or fat, black or white, green or purple. This is the Gospel truth. For in sin did our mothers conceive us (Psalms15:5 paraphrased).

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

Romans 3:23

Since we are all born into the world of sin, then we all are automatically under the influence of the god of this world- The devil who is the author of sin (1John 3:8, paraphrased).

The good news is that God has made a way for us not to be influenced by the devil and his wicked forces. Choosing to accept Jesus to be the Lord of our lives is the only way out.
